Seller Responds
The seller has seven days to accept, counter, or decline your offer.
Connect & Close
On acceptance, we introduce you to the seller to finalize payment and pick up your ride.
Skin in the game, fully refundable
Every offer is backed by a deposit — 5% of your offer, from $300 up to $8,000. It’s how a seller knows you’re for real. We hold it during their seven-day window, and here’s exactly what happens next:
Declined or no response
Your deposit is refunded in full. No deal means no cost — simple as that.
Countered
Accept the counter and your deposit carries over, or walk away and it’s refunded.
Accepted
Your deposit becomes RideOpen’s booking fee and we make the introduction so you can close.
Straight talk: the deposit is RideOpen’s booking fee, and it’s how we keep the lights on — but only when a deal actually comes together. It isn’t credited toward the price, so your total is the agreed price (paid to the seller) plus the deposit.
$600
A straight 5% of your offer.
Refundable until your offer is accepted. On acceptance it becomes RideOpen’s booking fee — paid on top of the price, not deducted from it.
The fine print, in plain English
Everything you might wonder about offers, deposits, and how we earn our keep.
The deposit keeps offers honest. Because real money is on the line, sellers know every offer is serious — which means faster answers and fewer games for everyone.
Yes — right up until an offer is accepted. If the seller declines, lets the seven days lapse, or you turn down a counter, you get every dollar back. It only converts to a fee once a deal is struck.
It’s 5% of your offer, with a floor of $300 and a cap of $8,000. So a $4,000 offer carries the $300 minimum, while anything above $160,000 is capped at $8,000.
No. The deposit is RideOpen’s booking fee, paid separately. Your total is the agreed price — paid directly to the seller — plus the deposit. We spell it out up front so there are no surprises at the finish line.
Only when a deal happens. Your deposit becomes our booking fee the moment a seller accepts your offer. If nothing comes together, we don’t earn a cent — our success is tied to yours.
We introduce you to the seller and step back. You arrange final payment and handoff directly. We’re building toward handling more of the close — escrow, paperwork, and delivery — but today we focus on making the right introduction.
